This is an important question.  For a project to be successful there has to be a good fit between what the Architect offers and what the Client needs. We're a value driven company.  We care a great deal about beauty, efficiency, economy, modesty and common sense.  Our professional skills are put at the service of these principles, and we're looking for Clients who share them.  We encourage prospective Clients to ask us all the questions they can, and to interview a number of architects to make sure that they hire the right firm for the project.  In return, we ask that our Clients accept that design is a process, be fully engaged with it, and to value our work.

Over the years, we've come to realize that Clients hire us because their projects are unusual in some way.  This could be a remarkable site, an unusual program, complex phasing, or an extremely tight budget. Our view is that the job of architecture is to frame and support daily life, regardless of the grandeur of the building.  In practical terms our projects enjoy the benefits of natural light, carefully selected views, energy efficiency, formal simplicity, cost effectiveness, simple materials, clear organization, careful siting, a full engagement with the natural world, and excellent service.  The people who hire us are looking for these things.
